Baked Ham and Cheese Croissants

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

Golden, flaky, and irresistibly savory, these baked ham and cheese croissants are the ultimate comfort food for breakfast, brunch, or dinner. Made with buttery pastry, melty cheese, and tender ham, they’re quick, customizable, and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Croissant dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 8 slices thinly sliced ham
  • 8 slices cheese (Swiss, cheddar, or Gruyere)
  • 12 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted (for brushing)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Prepare the Dough: Roll out croissant dough on a clean surface. If using pre-made dough, separate it into triangles as per package instructions.
  • Layer the Fillings: Optionally spread Dijon mustard on each triangle. Add a slice of ham and cheese to the widest part of the dough.
  • Roll the Croissants: Roll each triangle from the wide end to form a crescent. Tuck the ends gently to secure.
  • Brush with Butter: Brush the tops with melted butter for a golden finish.
  • Bake: Place croissants on the baking sheet, spaced apart. Bake for 12–15 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.
  • Cool and Serve: Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

  • Storage: Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • Reheating: Warm in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 5–7 minutes to regain crispiness.
  • Freezing: Freeze baked croissants after cooling, wrapped individually, for up to 2 months.
