- 1 egg + 1 tbsp water (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Prepare the filling: In a saucepan, combine blackberries, sugar, lemon juice, lemon zest, and cornstarch. Cook over medium heat, stirring, until thickened. Let cool completely.
- Roll out pastry: Roll out puff pastry sheets into rectangles, about 1/8-inch thick, on a floured surface.
- Spread filling: Spread cooled blackberry filling over one sheet, leaving a small border.
- Top and seal: Place the second puff pastry sheet over the filling, aligning edges. Press gently to seal.
- Cut and twist: Slice the pastry into 1-inch-wide strips. Twist each strip carefully.
- Chill: Place the twists on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Chill for 15 minutes.
- Egg wash: Brush twists with egg wash for a golden finish.
- Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake twists for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Cool and serve: Let cool on a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.

- Store cooled twists in an airtight container for up to 2 days at room temperature or up to 5 days refrigerated.
- Reheat in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 5-7 minutes to restore crispness.
