Ingredients
Scale
- 4 pork chops
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup chicken broth (optional)
- Fresh herbs (such as thyme or parsley for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C), if baking.
- Season the pork chops on both sides with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear the pork chops for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Add butter and brown sugar to the pan, allowing the sugar to melt and create a glaze.
- Lower the heat and spoon the glaze over the pork chops to coat evenly.
- For oven-baked pork chops, transfer them to a baking dish, pour any remaining glaze over the top, and bake for 10-15 minutes until fully cooked.
- Check for doneness using a meat thermometer (145°F for medium, 160°F for well-done).
- Garnish with fresh herbs and serve immediately with your favorite sides.
Notes
- Spicy Kick – Add red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper for a bit of heat.
- Tangy Twist – Mix in a splash of balsamic vinegar or Dijon mustard to balance the sweetness.
- Herb-Infused – Use rosemary or thyme for an extra aromatic touch.
- Grilled Version – Instead of pan-searing, cook the pork chops on a preheated grill for a smoky flavor.
- Maple-Glazed – Swap brown sugar for maple syrup for a different depth of sweetness.
