- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
For the Alfredo Sauce:
- 2 tbsp butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 ½ cups heavy cream
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
For the Pasta:
- 12 oz fettuccine pasta
- ½ cup reserved pasta water
For Garnish:
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Pat the steak dry and season both sides generously with Cajun seasoning.
- Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
- Sear the steak for 3-4 minutes per side, adjusting for thickness and doneness preference.
- Lower the heat, add butter, and baste the steak by spooning melted butter over it.
- Remove from the skillet and let it rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing into thin strips.
Making the Alfredo Sauce:
- In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream, bringing it to a gentle simmer.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese, whisking until the sauce is smooth and thickened.
- Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
Cooking the Pasta & Assembling:
- Cook fettuccine in salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente.
- Reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
- Toss cooked pasta in Alfredo sauce, adding reserved pasta water as needed.
- Plate the pasta and top with sliced Cajun steak.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and a squeeze of lemon juice.
