Description

Enjoy delicious Cherry Pie Cups—miniature, bite-sized cherry pies with a flaky crust and luscious filling. Perfect for parties, holidays, or a simple sweet treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp sugar (optional, for sprinkling)
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar (for garnish, optional)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional, for added flavor)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional, for extra warmth)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven – Set oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a muffin tin.
  2. Prepare the Pie Crust – Roll out the pie dough and cut circles slightly larger than the muffin tin openings.
  3. Press into Muffin Tin – Gently press each dough circle into the muffin tin cups, ensuring they cover the sides.
  4. Fill with Cherry Filling – Spoon a generous amount of cherry pie filling into each cup, filling about ¾ full.
  5. Create a Topping – Optionally, cut additional dough into strips for a lattice top or use a small circle to cover the filling.
  6. Brush with Egg Wash – Lightly brush the edges and tops with a beaten egg for a golden finish.
  7. Sprinkle with Sugar – If desired, sprinkle a bit of sugar over the top for extra sweetness and crunch.
  8. Bake – Place in the preheated oven and bake for 18-22 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  9. Cool & Garnish – Allow to cool slightly before removing from the muffin tin. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
  10. Serve & Enjoy – Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Different Fillings – Try apple, blueberry, or peach pie filling for a twist.
  • Crumble Topping – Add a brown sugar and oat crumble for a streusel effect.
  • Chocolate Drizzle – Drizzle melted chocolate over the top for a decadent touch.
  • Almond Extract – A few drops in the cherry filling enhance the flavor.
  • Gluten-Free – Use a gluten-free pie crust for a dietary-friendly option.
