- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 12 oz fettuccine pasta
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Chicken
- Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked.
- Remove from the pan and let rest before slicing.
Step 2: Cook the Pasta
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
- Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.
Step 3: Make the Alfredo Sauce
- In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and stir well, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer.
- Gradually add grated Parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until the sauce is smooth and thickened.
- Season with salt, black pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg if using.
Step 4: Combine Everything
- Add the cooked fettuccine to the Alfredo sauce, tossing to coat evenly.
