  • 12 oz fettuccine pasta

  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked.
  4. Remove from the pan and let rest before slicing.

Step 2: Cook the Pasta

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Add fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  3. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

Step 3: Make the Alfredo Sauce

  1. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream and stir well, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  4. Gradually add grated Parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until the sauce is smooth and thickened.
  5. Season with salt, black pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg if using.

Step 4: Combine Everything

  1. Add the cooked fettuccine to the Alfredo sauce, tossing to coat evenly.
  2. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of reserved pasta water to loosen it.
  3. Slice the cooked chicken and place it on top of the pasta.
  4. Garnish with fresh parsley and red pepper flakes if desired.
