Ingredients

Scale
  • Beef: 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • Broccoli: 3 cups florets
  • Sauce:
    • ¼ cup soy sauce
    • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
    • 1 tbsp brown sugar
    • ½ cup beef broth or water
    • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • Aromatics & Oil:
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 tsp ginger, minced
    • 1 tbsp sesame oil
    • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

  • Optional:
    • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (for heat)
    • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
    • Cooked rice (for serving)

Instructions

  • Prepare Ingredients – Slice beef against the grain. Chop broccoli, mince garlic and ginger.
  • Make the Sauce – In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, broth, and cornstarch until smooth.
  • Cook the Beef – Heat vegetable oil in a skillet/wok over medium-high heat. Sear beef for 2-3 minutes until browned, then remove.
  • Cook the Broccoli – In the same pan, add a little more oil and stir-fry broccoli for 2-3 minutes until crisp-tender.
  • Add Aromatics – Stir in garlic and ginger, cooking for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Combine Everything – Return beef to the pan, pour in sauce, and stir to coat evenly.
  • Simmer & Thicken – Let sauce cook for 2-3 minutes until thickened and beef is fully cooked.
  • Final Touches – Drizzle sesame oil, garnish with green onions, and add red pepper flakes if desired.

  • Serve – Enjoy over steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

  • Gluten-Free: Use tamari or coconut aminos instead of soy sauce.
  • Keto-Friendly: Swap brown sugar for a keto sweetener and use a low-carb cornstarch substitute.
  • Extra Veggies: Add bell peppers, carrots, or snap peas.
  • Spicy: Increase red pepper flakes or mix in Sriracha.
  • Different Proteins: Try chicken, shrimp, or tofu instead of beef.
