Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can crescent roll dough
- 1 pound breakfast sausage
- 6 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped (optional)
- 1/2 cup bell peppers, diced (optional)
- 1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven – Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook Sausage – In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess grease and set aside.
- Prepare Crescent Roll Base – Unroll the crescent roll dough and lay it flat in the greased baking dish, pressing the seams together to form a solid crust.
- Layer Ingredients – Evenly spread the cooked sausage over the crescent roll dough. Add any optional ingredients like bell peppers, mushrooms, or green onions.
- Prepare Egg Mixture – In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder until well combined.
- Assemble the Casserole – Pour the egg mixture over the sausage and crescent roll base. Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake – Place the dish in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the cheese is golden brown.
- Cool and Serve – Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Meat Lovers – Add cooked bacon or diced ham along with the sausage.
- Vegetarian Option – Omit the sausage and add more vegetables like spinach, tomatoes, or zucchini.
- Spicy Twist – Use spicy sausage or add chopped jalapeños for extra heat.
- Cheese Variety – Swap out cheddar for pepper jack, Swiss, or feta cheese.
- Low-Carb Version – Substitute the crescent roll dough with a layer of scrambled eggs or hash browns.
