- 1/2 cup chopped dill pickles
- 2 jalapeño peppers, sliced (remove seeds for less heat)
- 1 habanero pepper, sliced (optional for extra heat)
- 1/2 small onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped
Instructions
- Prepare the Ingredients: Slice the jalapeños and habanero (if using). Chop the onion, dill pickles, and mince the garlic.
- Sauté the Aromatics: In a saucepan over medium heat, add a splash of vinegar, onion, and garlic. Cook for 3-5 minutes until softened and fragrant.
- Simmer the Mixture: Add the peppers, pickles, mustard seeds, salt, sugar, and water. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.
- Blend Until Smooth: Transfer the mixture to a blender and blend until smooth. Adjust texture with more vinegar or pickle brine if needed.
- Final Adjustments: Stir in fresh dill and adjust seasoning with additional salt, sugar, or vinegar as desired.
- Bottle and Store: Pour into sterilized jars or bottles. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 months.
