Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1/3 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper (or to taste)
- Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Shrimp: Pat shrimp dry with paper towels and lightly season with salt and black pepper.
- Cook the Shrimp: Heat 1 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
- Sauté Garlic: In the same skillet, add remaining butter and minced garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant.
- Make the Cream Sauce: Add chicken or vegetable broth, stirring to combine. Bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly (2–3 minutes).
- Season the Sauce: Add salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir well.
- Combine Shrimp and Sauce: Return cooked shrimp to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce. Heat through for 1–2 minutes.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the top. Serve immediately with your choice of side.
