  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A quick and flavorful 15-minute creamy garlic shrimp recipe with tender shrimp in a rich, garlicky cream sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights and pairs well with pasta, rice, or crusty bread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/3 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper (or to taste)
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Shrimp: Pat shrimp dry with paper towels and lightly season with salt and black pepper.
  • Cook the Shrimp: Heat 1 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  • Sauté Garlic: In the same skillet, add remaining butter and minced garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Make the Cream Sauce: Add chicken or vegetable broth, stirring to combine. Bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly (2–3 minutes).
  • Season the Sauce: Add salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir well.
  • Combine Shrimp and Sauce: Return cooked shrimp to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce. Heat through for 1–2 minutes.
  • Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the top. Serve immediately with your choice of side.

Notes

  • Serving Suggestions: Pairs well with pasta, rice, mashed potatoes, or crusty bread.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheating: Reheat gently in a skillet over low heat with a splash of broth or cream to maintain sauce consistency.
  • Tips: Be careful not to overcook shrimp to avoid a rubbery texture.
