  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 2-4 servings 1x

Description

Tender sea scallops baked in a rich garlic butter sauce, topped with crispy breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese. A quick and elegant seafood recipe, ready in just 25 minutes!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large sea scallops
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 2 tbsp dry white wine (e.g., Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio)
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (plus extra for garnish)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
  • Prepare the Scallops: Rinse scallops under cold water and pat them dry. Arrange them in a single layer in the prepared dish. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Make Garlic Butter Sauce: In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant (do not burn). Stir in lemon juice and white wine; let simmer for 1 minute.
  • Assemble: Pour garlic butter sauce evenly over scallops. Top with Parmesan cheese, followed by panko breadcrumbs. Drizzle olive oil on top.
  • Bake: Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until scallops are opaque and the topping is golden.
  • Broil (Optional): For a crispier topping, broil for 2–3 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning.
  • Serve: Garnish with parsley and serve immediately with your preferred sides.

Notes

  • Storage: Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • Reheating: Reheat in a 350°F oven for 8–10 minutes. Avoid microwaving to maintain texture.
  • Dietary Variations: Use gluten-free breadcrumbs for a gluten-free option or skip the cheese for a dairy-free version.
