Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp lemon juice
Instructions
Cooking the Steak Bites:
- Prepare the Steak – Pat the steak pieces dry with a paper towel. Season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- Heat the Pan – In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat until hot.
- Sear the Steak – Add the steak bites in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes per side until browned and cooked to desired doneness. Remove the steak from the pan and set aside.
- Make the Garlic Butter – Reduce heat to medium and add butter to the pan. Once melted, stir in minced garlic and cook until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
- Coat the Steak – Return the steak bites to the pan and toss them in the garlic butter. Remove from heat and set aside while preparing the sauce.
Making the Parmesan Cream Sauce:
- Prepare the Base – In the same pan, add heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer.
- Incorporate Flavors – Stir in grated Parmesan cheese, Dijon mustard, and red pepper flakes (if using). Continue to stir until the sauce is smooth and thickened.
- Balance the Flavor – Add a squeeze of lemon juice and stir.
- Combine – Return the steak bites to the pan, tossing to coat them in the creamy sauce.
- Garnish and Serve – Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- Spicy Kick – Add extra red pepper flakes or a splash of hot sauce for heat.
- Herbaceous Twist – Mix in fresh thyme or rosemary for a deeper aroma.
- Cheese Options – Try Pecorino Romano instead of Parmesan for a sharper flavor.
- Different Meats – Use chicken or shrimp for a variation on this dish.
- Lighter Version – Substitute half-and-half for heavy cream for a lighter sauce.
