  • Yield: 4 -6 servings 1x

Description

Enjoy a crunchy, homemade chocolate cereal made with wholesome ingredients and no artificial additives. This easy-to-make, delicious breakfast treat is perfect with milk or as a snack on the go!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil or butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp milk or water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven – Set your oven to 325°F (163°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the dough – In a mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together honey (or maple syrup), melted coconut oil (or butter), vanilla extract, and milk (or water).
  3. Mix the ingredients – Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
  4. Roll out the dough – Place the dough between two sheets of parchment paper and roll it out evenly until it is about ⅛ inch thick.
  5. Cut into cereal shapes – Using a knife or a pizza cutter, cut the dough into small squares or desired shapes.
  6. Bake – Transfer the pieces onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until crisp.
  7. Cool and store – Allow the cereal to cool completely before transferring it to an airtight container.
  8. Serve and enjoy – Serve with your favorite milk or yogurt, or eat as a snack.

Notes

  • Gluten-Free Option – Use almond flour or a gluten-free flour blend instead of whole wheat flour.
  • Extra Crunch – Add crushed nuts or seeds for added texture and nutrition.
  • Sweeter Version – Sprinkle a little coconut sugar or cinnamon sugar over the cereal before baking.
  • Protein Boost – Mix in a tablespoon of protein powder for added nutritional value.
  • Dairy-Free – Use almond milk, oat milk, or coconut milk instead of regular milk
