Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs chicken wings, separated into drumettes and flats
  • 2 fresh peaches, peeled and pureed
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce (such as sriracha or cayenne-based sauce)
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • Cooking oil (if frying)

Instructions

Preparing the Wings

  1. Pat the wings dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. Season the wings with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  3. Toss with cornstarch to create a light coating that enhances crispiness.

Cooking the Wings

Oven Method:
4. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a wire rack.
5. Arrange wings in a single layer and bake for 45-50 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy.

Frying Method:
4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pan to 375°F (190°C).
5. Fry wings in batches for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and fully cooked.
6. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Air Fryer Method:
4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
5. Arrange wings in a single layer and cook for 18-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.

Making the Hot Honey Peach Sauce

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and add pureed peaches, honey, hot sauce, and apple cider vinegar.
  2. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
  3. Taste and adjust spice level by adding more hot sauce if needed.

Coating the Wings

  1. Transfer cooked wings to a large bowl and pour the hot honey peach sauce over them.
  2. Toss gently until the wings are fully coated in the glaze.
  3. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces and garnishes like chopped herbs or extra peach slices.

Notes

  • Mango Twist: Swap peaches with mangoes for a tropical variation.
  • Extra Spicy: Add crushed red pepper flakes or a dash of cayenne for more heat.
  • Smoky Flavor: Use chipotle powder or smoked hot sauce for a deeper smoky taste.
  • Gluten-Free: Ensure that all seasonings and sauces used are gluten-free.
  • Maple Alternative: Replace honey with maple syrup for a different kind of sweetness.
