Italian Amaretto Pistachio Fudge

  • Total Time: 3 hours 20 minutes
  • Yield: 16 squares

Description

Indulge in rich and creamy Italian Amaretto Pistachio Fudge, a decadent blend of chocolate, amaretto liqueur, and crunchy pistachios. Perfect for gifting, holidays, or satisfying a sweet craving.

Ingredients

  • Dark chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate
  • Sweetened condensed milk
  • Butter
  • Amaretto liqueur
  • Vanilla extract
  • Pistachios (shelled and roughly chopped)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Baking Dish – Line an 8×8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper, ensuring there’s overhang on the sides for easy removal.
  2. Melt the Chocolate Mixture – In a heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of simmering water (double boiler method), combine chocolate, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. Stir until completely melted and smooth.
  3. Incorporate Flavorings – Remove the bowl from heat and stir in amaretto liqueur, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Mix well to distribute the flavors evenly.
  4. Add Pistachios – Fold in the chopped pistachios, reserving some for garnish.
  5. Transfer to Baking Dish – Pour the mixture into the prepared dish, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  6. Garnish – Sprinkle the reserved pistachios on top, gently pressing them into the surface.
  7. Set the Fudge – Refrigerate for at least 3 hours or until fully firm.
  8. Slice and Serve – Lift the fudge out using the parchment paper, place it on a cutting board, and cut it into squares.

Notes

  • White Chocolate Version – Use white chocolate instead of dark for a creamier, sweeter version.
  • Nut-Free Option – Omit pistachios for a smooth-textured fudge.
  • Extra Almond Flavor – Add a few drops of almond extract for an intensified nutty taste.
  • Coffee Infused – Stir in a teaspoon of instant espresso powder for a mocha twist.
  • Booze-Free – Skip the amaretto and add a bit more vanilla for a non-alcoholic version.
