  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A creamy, flavorful Marry Me Shrimp Pasta recipe featuring succulent shrimp, a rich sun-dried tomato parmesan sauce, and perfectly cooked pasta. Perfect for date nights or special occasions!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz pasta (linguine, fettuccine, or spaghetti)
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¾ cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook the Pasta: Boil a large pot of salted water. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Prepare the Shrimp: Season shrimp with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  • Sauté the Shrimp: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook shrimp for about 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  • Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant. Stir in sun-dried tomatoes and cook for another minute.
  • Deglaze the Pan: Pour in chicken broth, scraping up browned bits. Simmer for a couple of minutes.
  • Add Cream and Cheese: Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream, parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning. Mix until the cheese melts and sauce thickens.
  • Combine Everything: Return shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat. Add cooked pasta and mix well.
  • Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with fresh basil and parsley. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Protein Swap: Use chicken or scallops instead of shrimp.
  • Spice Level: Adjust red pepper flakes or add cayenne for extra heat.
  • Lighter Version: Substitute half-and-half for heavy cream.
  • Vegetarian Option: Swap shrimp for mushrooms, spinach, or zucchini.
  • Gluten-Free: Use gluten-free pasta.
