Ingredients

Scale

For the Teriyaki Sauce

  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water

For the Salmon

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Teriyaki Sauce

    • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Stir until sugar dissolves.
  • Thicken the Sauce

    • In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water to make a slurry. Add to the saucepan, stirring until thickened. Remove from heat and let cool.
  • Marinate the Salmon

    • Place salmon fillets in a dish or resealable bag. Pour half the teriyaki sauce over the fillets. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the Oven

    • Set oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  • Bake the Salmon

    • Arrange the salmon on the baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes until opaque and flaky.
  • Optional Broil for Caramelization

    • Broil for 2-3 minutes for a richer glaze.
  • Garnish and Serve

    • Drizzle remaining teriyaki sauce over the salmon and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve with rice and vegetables.
