Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp butter, divided
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • ½ cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • ½ tsp black pepper (or to taste)

Instructions

  • Prepare Seafood: Pat salmon and shrimp dry. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • Sear Salmon: Heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook salmon skin-side down for 4-5 minutes. Flip and cook another 3-4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  • Cook Shrimp: In the same skillet, add 1 tbsp butter if needed. Cook shrimp for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  • Make Garlic Sauce: Reduce heat to medium. Add butter and sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds. Deglaze the pan with broth and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add Cream and Parmesan: Stir in heavy cream and whisk in Parmesan gradually until smooth. Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  • Finish Sauce: Stir in lemon juice and parsley. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • Combine: Return salmon and shrimp to skillet. Spoon sauce over seafood and heat through for 1-2 minutes.
  • Serve: Plate with sides of choice and garnish with parsley.

Notes

  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheating: Reheat gently over low heat with a splash of cream or broth to thin the sauce.
  • Substitutions: Use half-and-half or coconut milk for a lighter sauce, or Pecorino Romano instead of Parmesan for a sharper flavor.
