Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz fettuccine pasta
- 1 lb crawfish tails, thawed and drained
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 bell pepper (red or green), chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper (adjust for spice level)
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp hot sauce (optional)
- ¼ cup parsley, chopped
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta – Boil fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Sauté Aromatics – Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions, bell peppers, and garlic, cooking until soft and fragrant.
- Add Crawfish – Stir in crawfish tails and cook for 2–3 minutes, allowing them to absorb the flavors.
- Season the Dish – Sprinkle in Cajun seasoning, paprika, cayenne, black pepper, and salt. Stir to coat evenly.
- Prepare the Sauce – Pour in chicken broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring to combine. Reduce heat slightly and add heavy cream, simmering for a few minutes.
- Incorporate the Cheese – Gradually mix in Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
- Combine with Pasta – Add cooked fettuccine to the skillet, tossing until fully coated in sauce.
- Adjust Seasoning – Taste and modify seasoning or spice level as needed.
- Garnish & Serve – Remove from heat, sprinkle with parsley and green onions, and serve hot.
Notes
- Protein Swap – Use shrimp, chicken, or andouille sausage instead of crawfish.
- Dairy-Free – Replace heavy cream with coconut milk or cashew cream; use dairy-free Parmesan.
- Extra Veggies – Add mushrooms, spinach, or zucchini for added texture.
- Low-Carb – Substitute fettuccine with zucchini noodles or spaghetti squash.
- Mild Version – Reduce or omit cayenne and hot sauce.
