Instructions
- Prepare the Steak: Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- Sear the Steak: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Once hot, add the steak and cook for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust time based on desired doneness). Remove from the skillet and let it rest.
- Make the Garlic Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add butter and minced garlic, cooking until fragrant.
- Add Liquids: Pour in the chicken or beef broth, stirring to deglaze the pan. Let it simmer for a minute.
- Incorporate the Cream: Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and Dijon mustard (if using). Let the sauce thicken for 2-3 minutes.
- Season and Serve: Add red pepper flakes if desired. Place the steak back into the skillet, spooning the sauce over the top. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
