Steak with Creamy Garlic Sauce

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 2-4 servings 1x

Description

Enjoy a restaurant-quality Steak with Creamy Garlic Sauce made at home in under 30 minutes! A rich, velvety garlic sauce enhances perfectly seared steak for an indulgent yet easy meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 steaks (ribeye, sirloin, or filet mignon)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/4 cup chicken or beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Steak: Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  2. Sear the Steak: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Once hot, add the steak and cook for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust time based on desired doneness). Remove from the skillet and let it rest.
  3. Make the Garlic Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add butter and minced garlic, cooking until fragrant.
  4. Add Liquids: Pour in the chicken or beef broth, stirring to deglaze the pan. Let it simmer for a minute.
  5. Incorporate the Cream: Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and Dijon mustard (if using). Let the sauce thicken for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Season and Serve: Add red pepper flakes if desired. Place the steak back into the skillet, spooning the sauce over the top. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Dairy-Free – Use coconut cream instead of heavy cream and nutritional yeast instead of Parmesan.
  • Herb-Infused – Add fresh thyme or rosemary for additional aroma and depth of flavor.
  • Mushroom Addition – Sauté mushrooms before adding the garlic for an earthy twist.
  • Lighter Version – Swap out heavy cream for Greek yogurt or half-and-half.
