  • 12 tsp fresh thyme or parsley, chopped (or ½1 tsp dried)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: 2 tbsp white wine or 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar

Instructions

  1. Prepare Mushrooms: Clean mushrooms with a damp cloth or soft brush. Trim stems if needed and leave them whole, or slice in halves/quarters depending on size.
  2. Heat the Pan: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat to prevent butter from burning.
  3. Sauté Mushrooms: Add mushrooms to the skillet and cook undisturbed for 2–3 minutes to brown. Stir and cook another 4–5 minutes until they release moisture.
  4. Add Garlic and Butter: Reduce heat slightly, add minced garlic and butter. Stir to coat mushrooms evenly. Cook 2–3 minutes until garlic is fragrant but not browned.
  5. Season: Add salt, pepper, and herbs. Stir to combine.
  6. Optional Deglaze: Add white wine or balsamic vinegar, stirring to scrape browned bits. Cook 1–2 minutes until reduced.
  7. Serve: Transfer to a serving dish, garnish with extra herbs if desired, and serve immediately.
