Instructions
- Prepare the Strawberries:
- Place sliced strawberries in a bowl.
- Sprinkle with granulated sugar, toss, and let sit for 15-20 minutes to release juices.
- Make the Whipped Cream:
- In a chilled bowl, combine heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla.
- Beat on medium-high until soft peaks form. Avoid overbeating.
- Prepare the Shortcake:
- Cut or break shortcake into small pieces if needed.
- Assemble the Trifles:
- Layer shortcake pieces in the bottom of individual serving glasses.
- Spoon a layer of strawberries with some juice over the shortcake.
- Add a dollop of whipped cream.
- Repeat layers, finishing with whipped cream on top.
- Garnish and Serve:
