For the Steak:

  • 2 steaks (Ribeye, Filet Mignon, or NY Strip)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary or thyme
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Seafood:

  • 2 lobster tails, or 8 large shrimp, or 6 scallops
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ lemon, juiced
  • ¼ tsp paprika
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Optional Sauce:

  • ¼ cup white wine (optional, for deglazing)
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Instructions

1. Prep the Ingredients

  • Bring the steak to room temperature (about 30 minutes).
  • Pat seafood dry with paper towels for better searing.
  • Mince garlic and prepare fresh herbs.

2. Cook the Steak

  • Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Season steak with salt, pepper, and olive oil.
  • Sear for 3-4 minutes per side until a golden crust forms.
  • Add butter, garlic, and rosemary/thyme, basting the steak for added flavor.
  • Cook to desired doneness (125°F for rare, 135°F for medium-rare, 145°F for medium).
  • Let steak rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.

3. Prepare the Seafood

  • Butterfly lobster tails (if using).
  • Heat butter and garlic in a pan over medium heat.
  • Add seafood, season with salt, pepper, paprika, and a squeeze of lemon juice.
  • Cook shrimp/scallops for ~2 minutes per side or until opaque.
  • Cook lobster tails for 5-6 minutes until fully opaque.

4. Make a Simple Sauce (Optional)

  • Deglaze steak pan with white wine, reducing slightly.
  • Stir in heavy cream, butter, and Parmesan, simmering until thickened.

5. Plate and Serve

  • Arrange steak and seafood on a plate.
  • Drizzle with extra butter or prepared sauce.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs and lemon slices.

Notes

  • Swap the seafood: Use crab legs or salmon instead of shrimp/lobster.
  • Alternative steak cuts: Try sirloin or T-bone.
  • Spicy twist: Add Cajun seasoning.

  • Garlic butter upgrade: Mix in fresh herbs or extra lemon juice.
