Sweet and Spicy Mango Salad Dressing

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 1 cup 1x

Description

This sweet and spicy mango salad dressing is a perfect blend of fruity sweetness and subtle heat. Made with fresh mango, olive oil, and a touch of spice, it’s a versatile, homemade dressing for salads, dips, and marinades.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ripe mango, peeled, pitted, and chopped
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes or chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Water, as needed for consistency

Instructions

  • Prepare the Mango: Peel and pit the mango, then cut it into small chunks.
  • Blend the Ingredients: In a blender or food processor, combine mango, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, honey (or maple syrup), lime juice, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes.
  • Adjust Seasoning: Blend until smooth, then taste and adjust with salt and black pepper.
  • Thin if Necessary: If the dressing is too thick, add water one tablespoon at a time, blending until desired consistency is reached.

  • Serve or Store: Transfer to an airtight jar or bottle and use immediately or store for later.

Notes

  • Citrus Boost: Use orange juice instead of lime juice for a milder flavor.
  • Extra Spice: Add more red pepper flakes or a pinch of cayenne.
  • Creamy Version: Blend in Greek yogurt or avocado.

  • Ginger Twist: Add freshly grated ginger for an aromatic boost.
