Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks
- Valentine’s-themed sprinkles, icing, or white chocolate (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Heat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×8 or 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Prepare Wet Ingredients: Melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Mix in granulated sugar and brown sugar until smooth. Let cool slightly before whisking in eggs and vanilla.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold into the wet mixture until combined.
- Add Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in chocolate chips or chunks.
- Bake: Pour batter evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool: Let brownies cool for 20 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack using the parchment overhang.
- Decorate: Once cooled, drizzle with white chocolate, add sprinkles, or cut into heart shapes using a cookie cutter.
- Serve: Slice into squares or shapes and serve plain or with vanilla ice cream.
