Warm Cinnamon Crescent Twists

  • Total Time: 22 minutes
  • Yield: 8-10 twists 1x

Description

Warm Cinnamon Crescent Twists are flaky, buttery pastries filled with a sweet cinnamon-sugar mixture and drizzled with a simple glaze. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a cozy dessert, these easy twists are a delightful treat with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 12 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the filling – In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon and granulated sugar.
  3. Roll out the dough – Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into rectangles by pinching the seams of two triangles together.
  4. Butter and sprinkle – Brush melted butter over the surface of each rectangle, then generously sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  5. Fold and cut – Fold each rectangle in half lengthwise, pressing gently to seal, then cut into strips.
  6. Twist and shape – Take each strip and twist it several times before placing it on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake – Place in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Make the glaze – While the twists bake, whisk together powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and a little milk until smooth.
  9. Drizzle and serve – Once baked, let the twists cool slightly before drizzling with glaze. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Nutty addition – Add finely chopped pecans or walnuts to the cinnamon-sugar mixture for extra texture.
  • Chocolate twist – Sprinkle mini chocolate chips inside before twisting for a chocolaty surprise.
  • Maple glaze – Swap the vanilla extract in the glaze for maple syrup for a richer flavor.
  • Savory version – Skip the sugar and cinnamon, and instead fill with cheese and herbs for a savory twist.
  • Pumpkin spice flavor – Substitute cinnamon with pumpkin spice for a fall-inspired treat.
