Description
This Date Snickers recipe is a healthier, no-bake alternative to traditional candy bars. Made with Medjool dates, peanut butter, roasted peanuts, and a rich chocolate coating, it’s a naturally sweet and satisfying treat perfect for snacking or dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 10–12 Medjool dates
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1/4 cup roasted peanuts
- 1 cup dark or milk chocolate
- 1 tsp coconut oil (optional, for melting chocolate)
- Sea salt (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Prepare the Dates: Slice each Medjool date lengthwise and remove the pit. Be careful not to cut all the way through.
- Fill with Peanut Butter: Using a small spoon, fill each date cavity with peanut butter.
- Add Crunch: Place a few roasted peanuts on top of the peanut butter in each date.
- Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl or using a double boiler, melt the chocolate with a bit of coconut oil until smooth.
- Coat the Dates: Using a fork or dipping tool, carefully coat each stuffed date in the melted chocolate, allowing excess chocolate to drip off.
- Set the Coating: Place the coated dates on a parchment-lined tray and sprinkle with sea salt if desired.
- Chill: Refrigerate for about 15-20 minutes, or until the chocolate hardens.
- Enjoy: Serve immediately or store for later indulgence.
Notes
- Nut Butter Swap: Use almond butter, cashew butter, or sunflower seed butter.
- Vegan-Friendly: Use dairy-free dark chocolate.
- Extra Toppings: Add crushed nuts, shredded coconut, or cacao nibs.
- Salted Caramel Twist: Drizzle homemade or store-bought date caramel over the peanut butter before coating.
- Protein Boost: Mix a bit of protein powder into the peanut butter filling.
