Easy Churro Cheesecake Cookies Recipe for Beginners

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 12 cookies 1x

Description

Easy Churro Cheesecake Cookies combine the flavors of churros and creamy cheesecake in a simple, baked cookie form. Perfect for beginners, this no-fry dessert is crispy, sweet, and delicious!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 sheet puff pastry or 1 package refrigerated sugar cookie dough
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/4 cup flour (for rolling, if using cookie dough)
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder (if using homemade dough)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven – Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Filling – In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
  3. Make the Dough – If using sugar cookie dough, roll it out slightly on a floured surface. If using puff pastry, cut it into rounds using a cookie cutter.
  4. Assemble the Cookies – Place small spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture onto the center of half of the dough rounds. Cover with another round of dough and gently press the edges to seal.
  5. Egg Wash & Baking – Beat an egg and brush it lightly over the tops of the cookies for a golden finish. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
  6. Cinnamon-Sugar Coating – In a bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon. While the cookies are still warm, brush them with melted butter and roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  7. Cool & Serve – Allow the cookies to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy them warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Chocolate Drizzle – Add a drizzle of melted chocolate for extra indulgence.
  • Caramel Filling – Swap out the cheesecake filling for a dollop of caramel.
  • Nutty Crunch – Sprinkle crushed pecans or almonds over the cinnamon-sugar coating.
  • Gluten-Free – Use a gluten-free cookie dough or puff pastry alternative.
