Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup plain or Greek yogurt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced or finely grated
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley or herbs (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix in yogurt until a soft dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface for 2-3 minutes until smooth.
- Rest the Dough:
- Cover with a kitchen towel and let rest for 15-20 minutes to relax the gluten.
- Infuse the Garlic Oil:
- Heat olive oil over low heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant but not browned. Stir in parsley or herbs if desired, then set aside.
- Shape the Flatbreads:
- Divide dough into 2-4 portions, depending on desired size. Roll each piece into a thin, round or oval shape (~1/8 inch thick).
- Brush with Garlic Oil:
- Lightly brush one side of each flatbread with the garlic oil.
- Preheat the Air Fryer:
- Set the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and preheat for 3-5 minutes.
- Cook the Flatbreads:
- Place one flatbread, garlic oil side up, into the air fryer basket. Cook for 3-4 minutes until golden and slightly puffed.
- Flip, brush the other side with garlic oil, and cook for another 2-3 minutes until crispy and golden.
- Repeat and Serve:
- Keep cooked flatbreads warm under a towel and repeat with remaining portions.
- Serve warm with dips, soups, or as a base for toppings.
Notes
- Storage: Wrap leftovers in foil or an airtight container. Store at room temperature (2 days), in the fridge (5 days), or freeze (2 months).
- Reheating: Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 1-2 minutes or warm in a skillet.
- Tips:
- Roll dough thin for crispier results.
- Add red chili flakes to garlic oil for heat.
- For a gluten-free option, use a gluten-free flour blend.
